Tips for Projects Subscribers

Leads 2 Business sources up to date information on Projects throughout South Africa and Africa and we would like to you benefit from these leads and build your business and business relationships to stand you in good stead for future endeavors.

  1. Monitoring the Project

With a click of a button, you are assured of being informed when there are changes and updates to a Project Lead that you are interested in. When the researcher sources new information the Project Lead is updated and all the subscribers that are monitoring will be notified that there is an update and with one more click on your advisory you are able to open the specific Project that you are interested in and find out what new information we have for you. Monitor the Project Lead, you don’t want to miss an update!

  1. Monitors

Assign Project Leads to your Sales Staff and manage new business using L2B tools, share the workload and Projects you receive with the five (5) FREE monitors your subscription allows. Your monitors have their own log-in details and are able to access all the details of the Project Leads they are assigned, they will also be notified of any updates.

  1. Use Information to build relationships

The researchers endeavor to source the professional team for each Project Lead uploaded and these details remain on the Lead and if you were not able to successfully be part of that specific Project’s team, remember there could be opportunities down the road, start building a relationship with the professionals so when they start their next Project, you could already have a “foot in the door”

  1. Status of the Project and who to contact

The status of the project is important, for example: if you would like your product specified in the bill of quantities, an underway project is too late to spam the architect with your profile for that project, here is your opportunity to start building those relationships I spoke about in point 3 for any possible future projects they could be involved in. Conceptual and Procedural projects are very early in the life span of the project and if approvals are not granted, the project will most likely not go ahead. The environmental consultant and town planner are responsible for obtaining approvals therefore their contact details are not made available, they cannot assist with any procurement or construction details of the Project Lead. Recently awarded projects are where you would contact the awarded company regarding the products they will now need to get to fulfill the contract. Know who you need to contact and the best time to do so.

  1. Researcher Link

Is there a professional that you need to contact and they are not listed? You have heard via the grapevine that the contract could be awarded? Use the link to contact the Researcher responsible for that project lead and request the information. They will respond and advise the update by return email.

  1. Note Facility unique to that Project Lead

There is nothing worse than scratching around for a piece of paper that you wrote information on that you now need and it is missing……use the note facility on the Project Lead. These are your own personal notes regarding the Project Lead you are working on and a reminder of what you have done, who you have spoken to, and what your plan of action could be the next time you follow up on the Project lead. These notes are your own personal notes and cannot be seen by any other subscribers. You work from home or on-site?…..your notes are there with you, relevant to that Project Lead.

  1. The site is live and up to date

The moment you download a Project Lead with the intention of using a hard copy you could be missing out on valuable updated information that we have just added that will not be on your hard copy, go paperless, (much better for the environment), use the site, it is up to date with the latest information we have.

  1. Searching on the site

Less is more!!! The more criteria you input, the more you are narrowing your search, each option you select must be linked to the Lead or your results will be zero and you could be missing out on an opportunity. Use just one keyword to find what you are looking for, if there are too many results, add another option to reduce the results. Even better, if you have a reference number, just the reference number is required to find the Project Lead you are looking for, no other criteria required, the Project reference number is a unique number assigned to that Lead.

  1. Updates you might have missed

Regularly do a search for projects you might have missed that have been recently updated. Using minimal search criteria, for example, only select projects, the industry you interested in, and the region (status as well if there is only a specific status you want to deal with) and click on the search button, the search will be populated with the Projects that have recently been updated with the most recent at the top….try it, you might find something you missed, then monitor it so you don’t miss anything else.

The Researchers are a dedicated Team eager to source new Projects, update the existing Projects on the site, and to assist you with any information that you need.

5 Large Projects in Mauritius

Mauritius is a small island in the Indian Ocean. The most important revenue in the 1980s was sugar cane being exported to European countries. Nowadays it relies mostly on the tourism sector which is considered its main source of revenue. Tourism has become a source of job creation and revenue for the local inhabitants. A change in the tourism demand for an island may have a major impact on the Gross Domestic Product, the budget and the Balance of Payments.

Sugar cane fields are now being replaced by new projects to cater to the tourism sector. With so many developments in the pipeline for Mauritius, it is hard to pick just five of them. Currently, on the L2B website, we have over 340 projects for Mauritius alone, and that figure is climbing steadily.

Here are some interesting large projects that are currently either in the pipeline or underway in Mauritius:

1) Jin Fei Smart City

The Jin-Fei Smart City will be created over eight years and will require an investment of around US$ 800 million. The first phase includes the construction of the Garden of Eden, which is now complete, as well as the construction of a 5-star hotel with 185 rooms. This hotel project will be carried out in two 60 m high towers. Construction of the hotel has started on a plot of land next to the Place du Jardin d’Eden. In parallel, construction will also start on 19 luxury French-style villas along the Baie du Tombeau river, a clifftop restaurant and an entrepreneur club that will take the form of a boat.
2) Medine Smart City (aka Uniciti)
Medine Group is aspiring to create a smart city which will include not only residential areas, schools, universities, shopping malls, sport and leisure centres but also an art and cultural centre and a botanical garden. With a surface area of 823 acres between Bambous, Cascavelle and Flic en Flac, the project will have a global investment of US $ 937 million once the city is completed.
3) Beau Plan Smart City
Terra Mauricia’s smart city project will be located at Beau Plan on a freehold land of an extent of 540 acres. The proposed smart city project will comprise of residential units, mixed-use development, creative park and university campus development. Existing developments such as the Aventure du Sucre, Beau Plan Business Park, restaurant, leisure facilities amongst others have been included in the smart city. The project will entail a total investment of US$ 800 million and will bring around 10 200 job opportunities.
4) Cap Tamarin Smart City
The Cap Tamarin Smart City Project will be located at the entrance of Tamarin Village and will comprise of an education zone, office spaces, a boutique hotel, residential units, a civic centre and public amenities, including jogging and cycle tracks. The project will cover the land of an extent of 105 acres. The total investment is estimated at US$ 240 million.
5) Mon Tresor Smart City
The Mon Trésor Smart City project is being undertaken by the Omnicane Group and will be a vibrant and sustainable city comprising of a business gateway, offices, logistics/light industrial park, freeport zone, 600 residential lots, 300 villas/duplexes, 100 apartments, commercial centre, leisure complex, SME’s incubator, film studio, civic centre, an education and art hub on freehold land of an extent of 184.1018Ha at Mon Trésor and La Cambuse. The total project cost is estimated at US$ 253.5 million.

Did you know: Mauritius has emerged as Africa’s most competitive economy for 2019 and ranked 25th in the world. South Africa’s economy is ranked 2nd in Africa and 60th in the world for 2019.

For more information on the above developments, as well as a whole lot of other interesting projects happening in Mauritius, as well as in the SADC region, please feel free to contact me (MelanieM@L2B.co.za) to receive daily project leads and updates.

5 Megacity Projects in Gauteng

5 Megacity Projects in Gauteng

Today I am going to be discussing the 5 new Mega City Developments around Johannesburg that you need to know about.

So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get to it.

Gauteng is a Sesotho word meaning “place of Gold” and although it is the smallest province of South Africa it has now become a city of modern skyscrapers. Let’s take a look at some of the huge developments taking place there.

The first one we are going to take a look at is Dan Tloome Mega City (PPA 23766)

The project value of this development is R17 billion. The property is situated to the west of Randfontein CBD in Rand West Local Municipality. This mixed-use development will comprise of 22 110 residential units: 5 419 houses and 16 612 high-density units.

The development will consist of social and veteran housing, walk-up apartments, disabled housing with all necessary amenities: shopping and neighbourhood centres, student accommodation, community centres, schools, industrial park and much more. A large sports village with a 40 000 seater stadium is also said to form part of the project.

The next megacity we are going to discussing is the Sandton Gate (PPA 20384):

Sandton Gate is located in the heart of Johannesburg and is 5 minutes away from the Sandton CBD. This mixed-used development will incorporate commercial, residential and retail space all connecting to one another. Pedestrian walkways will connect each building to the next allowing precinct users to zigzag through the development to embrace and access all the amenities effortlessly.

The pedestrian-friendly walkways offer tenants in apartments and office the space to relax. Sandton Gate overlooks the lush green banks of Braamfontein Spruit. This project is being developed by Abland and Tiber.

So far, we have had a look at the Dan Tloome MegaCity and Sandton Precinct.

Now let us move onto our third Mega-City: The Montrose Mega City (PPA 21484)

Montrose Mega City Development is located in the West Rand Region of Gauteng within Randfontein. The development will consist of 5 602 and 8 190 mixed-use residential units on Phase 1 and Phase 2. Montrose Mega City Development has both public and private involvement which will consist of schools, private and public hospitals, a government complex, theme parks, commercial agricultural, retail, commercial office parks and other public amenities.

The duration of the entire development construction period is about 7 years. There are among 750 and 800 people working on-site every day.

The development has the support and upliftment of the community and is expected to have a population of between 56 000 and 70 000 in the Township.

Now we are going to take a look at the next Megacity which is Irene Link (PPA 20875):

Irene Link is one of the new developments being constructed in Gauteng. This development is located on Alexander Road just off Botha Road interchange from the N1. This development will consist of the following tenants –  Crazy Plastics, Dischem, Pick n Pay Clothing, Checkers and Crazy Pets, beauty tenants, health and lifestyle. This building will also comprise of several restaurants for socialising.

This development is currently being constructed by Abland Group. The Irene Link Precinct will consist of residential, retail, medical centres, education facilities, hotels and commercial offices. This project is expected to open around March – April 2021.

Now the next development we are going to be chatting about is the Rainbow Junction (PPA 12838):

The Rainbow Junction is estimated to cost between R10 billion and R12 billion over a 10 – 15-year development phase. This development comprises of prime office, retails, commercial, hotel and conferencing facilities, social and recreational amenities and space for educational facilities. Due to this development being so huge, it is expected to create around 45 000 jobs over its development phase. This strongly transit-orientated development is said to be the world-class, integrated and sustainable mixed-use megaproject. The multi-billion rand Rainbow Junction mixed-use property megaproject will be located in the north of Pretoria CBD.

The Rainbow Junction mall is said to have over 250 retail stores, a state of the art cinema, an ice rink, restaurants and much more. The Rainbow Mall is estimated to cost around R2.5 billion.

“Rainbow takes retail beyond boundaries into an entirely new yet already bustling northern node in the City of Tshwane”.

After taking a look at these exclusive developments, one can see that once complete, they are definitely going to hit Gauteng by a storm. These developments are just a few of the numerous major projects coming up in Johannesburg. Keep a look for these exciting projects on the rise.
