Description
Rehabilitation of the Kariba Dam in Zambia. The Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project will consist of the following: (a) Kariba Dam Spillway Refurbishment; by reviewing and, as needed, updating the detailed designs for the rehabilitation works. The works will include fabrication and installation of an emergency gate and a new gantry, with associated civil works refurbishment, to prevent potential failure of the upstream spillway control facility, which would address possible drop in water levels below the minimum operational levels and interrupting power production; (b) Reshaping of the Kariba Dam Plunge Pool downstream of the dam to limit scouring and erosion that could potentially undermine the dam foundations; and (c) Supervise all related rehabilitation works and management of environmental and social safeguards. Pensana Metals Ltd is completing studies for a low-cost development approach at the Longonjo NdPr Project in Angola to determine the project’s potential to serve as a globally significant supplier for the expanding magnet metals market. The development concept is to have a low capital cost, shallow open pit and flotation operation producing a high‐grade concentrate for export to China via the adjacent major rail and port infrastructure. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is lat: -12.9018025; long: 15.2458111.

Featured Project: Rossing Uranium Mine Upgrade, Namibia

Description
Rössing Uranium Ltd is focused on extending the life of the Rossing Uranium Mine in Namibia beyond 2036. The project requires deeper mining of the same SJ ore-body through a north-eastern extension of the current pit (Phase 4 pushback) to supply the existing process plant with sufficient ore until the end of 2036. The Rössing infrastructure and processing plant are also being upgraded, including the construction of a 15 MWe photovoltaic solar power plant, as well as expansion of the tailings storage facility.

Featured Project: Tete Iron/Vanadium/Titanium Project, Mozambique

Description
The Tete project covers an areas of 632km ² and is located immediately north of the provincial capital of Tete in Mozambique. The project is strategically located to access abundant, low-tariff hydroelectric power from existing and developing schemes on the Zambezi river. The project contains two areas of magnetite/titanium/vanadium mineralisation – the Singore area to the south and the Massambe group in the north. Exploration efforts to date have been focused on the Massambe group area. The Singore area remains largely untested, but highly prospective. The initial capital expenditure required to get Tete up and running was set at US$1.14 billion. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is lat: -15.490813654112022; long: 33.23428787931671
