Construction of a raw water supply system and water purification plant in Plangeni, Northern Cape. CIDB 7CE/ME. Scope of works will include: upgrading of the existing water purification plant. The main components, among other, are as follow: Construct a raw water abstraction point with electrical driven pumps and control panel. Construct an electrical supply line to the abstraction point. Supply and install all fittings and an approved raw water meter at the abstraction point. Supply and construct an 1810m, 160mm diameter class 9 uPVC pipe from the abstraction point to the water purification plant. Construction of a 356m³ bolted steel raw water storage tank at the purification plant. Supply and install an automatic control system for the raw water pumps. Supply and erect a 1500-UFMC-1 upflow clarifier with supply pumps, chlorine and flocculant dosing pumps, pipe connections and automatic control system. Construct concrete foundation slab for clarifier. Construct a 1 227m² bolted streel purified water storage reservoir. Construct a 181.58m³ bolted steel tank on a 10m stand with electrical driven pumps to fill the tank. Supply and install all Gl pipes and valves for purification plant. Supply and install bulk water meter. Construct office building with ablution and a storeroom. Construct pond for backwash water from clarifier. Supply and install 35 KVA standby generator. Construct 1,8m x 120m clearvu boundary fence. Earth works work for the construction of the tanks and pump house. The exact GPS coordinates are not known at this stage and have been placed in area known as Plangeni 28°39’01.8″S 21°06’04.0″E |
