Description : The construction of Kazungula Bridge is a tripartite effort by Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The bridge would provide a much-needed alternative to ferry transport of the natural boundary between Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The bridge will be constructed immediately downstream of the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, some 65km upstream of the Victoria Falls. The project length of the bridge and approach roads would be 3700m, comprising 720m for the main bridge and 2980m for approach roads. A pre-stressed concrete, extra-dosed bridge had been recommended, with a seven metre carriageway and one metre wide shoulders and sidewalks on each side. Estimated project value: US$ 259.3 million.
