Description : Construction of a 4-storey, 238-bed, 8 theatre hospital with state-of-the-art diagnostics centres i.e. haematology and oncology; neuroscience; endocrine and diabetes; paediatric surgery; cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery; kidney; and craniofacial with expansion capability to approximately 300 beds. This facility will operate in partnership with the WITS medical school as a primary base but will engage all medical training facilities across the region. The site is 34 750m² of land in St Andrews Road on the north-west corner of the Wits Education (JCE) Campus in Parktown. This land area is alongside the teacher training facilities and in close proximity to the Wits Medical School. This land is bounded by Jubilee Road on the north, Victoria Road on the west and our campus access road on the south side.The site will be provided to the hospital on nominal terms by the University of Witwatersrand, Gauteng. Contract Value R456 Million. Contract Period is 18 months. .
